NDSU ENGL 320 Blog 4 By Thane Kruk For this blog post we were challenged to "live in the moment" by taking some time to sit quietly for as long as we could with zero distractions. The purpose of this challenge was to try and slow down daily life for a little bit and appreciate it as is. I think this is a good exercise for anyone to try, especially if you ever reach a point in your day where you feel overwhelmed or stressed out. I completely agree that people tend to not live in the moment and instead try to live in the future. I too am guilty of this as I am always trying to check the next task off my bucket list or come up with a new idea for work. Although you may think that always thinking and working towards something is the only way to achieve it, you may be wrong. Being a clear communicator is essential in then work place, especially in a team oriented setting. This allows for easier collaboration between coworkers, which is crucial to successfully completing tasks by their deadlines in the work place. Being able to effectively communicate in various ways in the workplace is very important to employee success. Online College Courses In my college career I have taken a pretty sizable number of online classes, in fact I would go as far as saying about 80-90% of my business classes for my Business Administration Minor have been taken online. Unfortunately NDSU doesn't offer their construction management program online or I would be taking some of those online as well. I took my first online class freshman year as a test run to see if it was a good fit for me and I loved it. One specific class I took online was the principles of real estate. Or in this case it was technically called BUSN 347 at NDSU. As someone who deals with real estate daily as their profession, this class was super enjoyable and insightful. Although I had already known a good amount of the basics I still learned a great deal from the class.
